Spotlight: Rich Gardens

Anne Fugate and Rich Tomsu own and operate Rich Gardens, a small-scale organic farm near Athens, OH. Since the 1980s, they've sold their goods at the Athens Area Farmers Market. Because of their small scale and local sales, Rich and Anne are contributing to a local, sustainable agriculture system.

What is 'Heal the Planet'?

Heal the Planet is a radio spotlight on those amongst us who are proactive in their daily lives to address environmental issues. People who heal the planet are everywhere. We all probably know someone who picks up trash on their walk through a park, or rides their bike to work to reduce their gas consumption. Some people heal the planet by growing some of their food, and do so without pesticides. Some people advocate for the environment in the political sphere.

Wherever they are and whatever they do, people in the 'Heal the Planet' Spotlight care deeply about the wellbeing of the natural world and act in some way to ensure that wellbeing exists today and for generations to come. In the process, they become role models for everyone.
